Yellow Tang Ich?

I just noticed my Tang has little white spots on its fins, could this be Ich?

I don't have a QT so this is going to be a pain.

Can you post a pic? It could be Ich.

Ill try but its going to be hard to get a good shot of him because he never stops moving in the open.

And I have read just about everything by Kelly Jedlicki on Ich so I know this is not going to be fun.

Without having a QT yes its going to be a pain, also remember copper will kill a ton of things in your tank if its a reef. such as corals, inverts, etc. (But I bet you already knew that!)

Same here, I just got a Kole Tang, and as soon as he hit my 90 gallon tanks water he got ich, so I've now setup a QT setup in the basement next to my 300's sump/fuge skimmer stand. I'll be damned if I let that happen in my 300+.

Check out craigslist, you should be able to find a nice QT setup for next to nothing.

I thought about that. The lfs has a sale on tanks $1.00 a gallon so I might see what they have.

Well I can't see any spots on him today, maybe it was sand or something else.

My Kole Tang did the very same thing, the first day he had spots the next he didn't, I'll bet you'll see the spots come back. The cysts just dropped off where they will erupt in a few days and produce 10 times more of them.

Low salinity or copper treatment?

I forgot I got a 10 gallon tank for $6.00

Hope that will be big enough for a QT or hospital tank.

I use copper to treat, yeah a 10g will be fine, just keep an eye on your levels, and do water changes to keep the levels from getting outta hand.

Hows the fish doing Bill?

He's doing great, I couldn't do the full term in QT, I was having so much trouble with my levels
he almost died in QT so I put him back in the main tank. After a few days he looked better than when I got him.
